Healthy Breakfast Smoothie Recipe: It’s a Honey of a Treat!

This breakfast smoothie recipe is a most excellent way to start the day. It’s quick and easy and combines the wonderful health benefits of blueberries and raw honey. And it’s absolutely delicious!

Since it’s a frozen fruit smoothie, it makes for a delightfully cool way to start out a hot summertime day. (But it’s still my favorite breakfast even in the dead of winter!).


Honey and Blueberries are a Powerfully Healthy Combo

Honey offers lots of health benefits. If you haven’t already, you might want to read more about the health benefits of honey on this website.

And did you know that blueberries are one of the healthiest foods on the planet?

So this breakfast smoothie will give you a healthy start to the day. And as a bonus, it’s lip-smacking good!

If you’d like to give this honey and blueberry smoothie recipe a try, it’s very easy to make. Simply blend these ingredients in a blender:

  • 1/3 to 1/2 of a frozen banana.
  • 1 cup of frozen blueberries.
  • 1/4 cup of raw oats.
  • About a tablespoon of raw honey (more or less according to taste). I often use comb honey instead of liquid honey by just dropping a chunk of comb honey (quarter to half-dollar size) into the blender.
  • 3/4 cup of skim milk.

This low fat smoothie recipe is a great way to get a quick and healthy breakfast on the go. Just blend it, pour into your travel mug, and go. Make it even easier by using a simple single-serve blender.
