I believe that genetic modification of some fruits and vegetables has a direct effect on the honey bee. Although it is not the only reason, I believe it is becoming the largest reason. Modified pollen is a result of human meddling, and the use of pesticides that build in the soil over the years also contributes to the loss of the bee.
If it's not broken, don't fix it. Leave food to nature to grow and protect. It's worked for millions of years.
