This easy rice pudding recipe is sweetened entirely with honey. And it really is easy to make. You don’t even need to dirty a mixing bowl!
This rice pudding recipe is from a cookbook that was published in 1920.
What You’ll Need:
1 cup of honey.
3 cups of milk.
One egg, well-beaten.
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg.
Recipe for Rice Pudding Instructions:
Cook the rice in 2 1/2 cups of water. Cook until the rice is tender and has absorbed all of the water.
Pour the cooked rice into a baking dish.
Add the honey, milk, egg (well-beaten), and nutmeg to the rice in the baking dish. Thoroughly mix the ingredients.
Place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes. The recipe doesn’t specify an oven temperature, but says to “bake in a slow oven.” Probably about 300 degrees F.
